V3 2024 X-mid Pro 2 release October 2023
As of 1st of February 2024 the DCF version of Pro2 is sold out by preorder, next batch is shipped in March.
Updates from V2
– DCF floor: 509 g (previous release V2 with Silnylon was 565 g). Price of 01.03.24 WO stakes: USD 739. Price of 25.10.23: 639 USD. From Dan 26.10.23: “These things [autors note: See comment below on silnylon floor] are still present on the DCF floor versions, so those tents are the premium version that is absolutely light as possible but do cost $90-$110 more. The premium for the DCF floor option may appear slightly large, which is because it includes more than just the DCF floor. You also get a DCF stuff sack and these secret things to save more grams.”
– Silnylon floor: 565 g (previous release V2 with Silnylon was 565 g). Price of 01.03.24 WO stakes: USD 639. Price of 25.10.23: 639 USD. From Dan 26.10.23: “We have shifted a few largely unnoticeable but expensive things we do to save a few grams onto the DCF floor version only. This saves costs on the woven floor versions so we have been able to lower prices by $40-$50 but does increase the weight slightly over the 2023 versions.”

V1 X-mid Pro 2+ release October 2023
Updates from V2 of X-mid Pro 2
The floor width has been widened from 122 cm to 132 cm to accommodate all wide pads including being able to fit dual wide rectangular pads.
The headroom has been increased from 117 cm to 124 cm peak height, which also steepens the end walls to increase the useable length.
The diagonal ridgeline has been lessened to create more similar headroom on both sides and further optimize the tent for two people sleeping in the same direction.

V2 X-mid Pro 2 released in January 2023
Updates from V1:
– Dual interior pockets
– Reducing the weight from 578 to 555g (20.4oz to 19.6oz).
– Packed size: 27 x 12 cm
– Replaces shockcord at the doors with static cord + tensioners
– Adds “condensation gutters”. Dan Durston in Facebook post 18th of June 2023: “They are essentially small flaps of DCF that are sewn into the seam to direct it to the ends.”. Joe Kantalainen in FB 23rd of January 2023: “Inside, on the long seam which drops into the corner, now has a little ‘lip’ which will run any condensation into the corner rather than maybe letting it drop into the bathtub. Not really common, but might happen.”
– L-zip instead of J-zip (New superlight zippers don’t come as curved version)
– Dyneema core guylines instead of regular guyline (although the original included a bundle of this cord for an easy retrofit)
– Improved magnet locks for the door closures. The magnets are the same but there is one less layer of tape on top for a stronger hold.
